Michael & Jing (Wang) Edwards

Our wedding ceremony was on June 10, 1995. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Moscow, Idaho. We were fortunate because it had rained the day before and the sky clouded up again that Sunday (rain had been forecast for Saturday). To the right is Grace Baptist Church in Moscow, where we were married. It's a cute little white church downtown a block off Main Street. It was an idyllic setting for a wedding other than the traffic whizzing by on Sixth Street and the telephone wires.
It was wonderful ceremony, the best we've ever had (and the only one). Our wedding colors were teal and white, and the ceremony featured a nice mixture of Chinese and American traditions. The service was conducted in English with Chinese translation. Mike even mustered enough courage to serenade the bride. Unfortunately, she didn't even hear it because she was hiding from the audience until her big entrance (oh such silly traditions!). Following the ceremony we had a Chinese wedding banquet-style reception with delicious Chinese cuisine and an American wedding cake. It was a beautiful wedding uniting the best of China and the U.S. I just wished we could have duplicated the ceremony in China.

Mike pops the Big Question to Jing on the steps of the church. He asks, "So, are we going to go in and get hitched or what?" To which Jing replies, "Not on your life, buster!"

Jing looks beautiful in her long, flowing gown at the altar.
